Toy Fair 2020: DOTS

It's time to continue our Toy Fair 2020 coverage! One of the new themes shown at the show this year is LEGO DOTS, which has you building jewelry and such but with colorful LEGO tiles. It's like Clickits but more compatible with the LEGO System. The concept is intriguing and the pieces could be useful even for adults whose wrists won't fit in those bracelets. To check out the variety coming next month, read on!
DOTS
Bracelets
The use of the tiles make for some fun repeating designs, and I like the various themes they have from rainbows to pets to space. The bracelet pieces themselves look like they can handle the flexibility and LEGO tiles quite well, which could give them some interesting uses for MOCists.

These animal cubes certainly aren't complicated designs, but the pet faces are super cute. I can see a lot of potential for creating designs with these.
41905 Rainbow Jewelry Stand
213 Pieces.

$14.99

The colors on the stand really stand out, but the structure also looks to be pretty solid to hold up the pieces, so that's a plus.
41906 Pineapple Pencil Holder
351 Pieces.

$19.99
Available in March
Who doesn't like a giant pineapple with a slice of watermelons on the side. Okay, the rigid shape is a bit lacking, but I like the emotion that can be given to a pineapple. At the very least, these sets are showing off the very creative uses of these tiles.
41908 Extra DOTS - series 1
109 Pieces.

$3.99

I'm sure this will appear to some adult builders; the randomized emote tiles are funny but potentially useful. I don't know how randomized the packs are, but that still looks like a great selection of filler pieces for a good value.
Honestly, I can't really speak to how the target audience will look at these sets. It looks like there's a fun building style for simply jewelry and stands with a lot of room for fun creative designs. From an adult perspective, it provides us with a lot of useful tile elements (as long as we appreciate pastel colors). I'll be very interested to see how this theme does.
