Toy Fair 2020: Toy of the Year Awards
Hot Bionicle NewsWednesday, March 18th, 2020 at 7:13pm by Andrew, BZPower News Manager

As BZPower reported back when it was slightly more relevant, LEGO won three Toy of the Year Awards at Toy Fair 2020. The awards ceremony took place the night before the show floor opened, and first thing Saturday morning they were setting up a display with the winners. So of course we took some pictures of the ones relevant to our interests - read on to check them out.

The thing about the TOTY Awards is that they're almost always for toys that came out the year before. And like a lot of industry awards, the companies have to nominate products for consideration, so you usually only get products from the bigger companies in the running. That seems to have worked out in LEGO's favor yet again, as they walked away with Construction Toy of the Year (Deep Space Rocket and Launch Control), Specialty Toy of the Year (Stranger Things The Upside Down), and STEM/STEAM Toy of the Year (BOOST Star Wars Droid Commander). I haven't built any of them yet, so I can't say how deserving or not they might be, but I am definitely excited to check out the Star Wars Boost set at some point.

That wraps it up for the awards. Check out our other Toy Fair coverage right here!
