    Set Review: 41505 Shuff
ReviewWednesday, March 19th, 2014 at 9:33pm by Andrew, BZPower News Manager
    [Source: Makaru]

Continuing our look at the Cragster Mixels, today Forum Leader Makaru reviews 41505 Shuff. With a golden crown, googly eyes, and those teeth, it's hard to tell if this creature is something to be afraid of or to cuddle. If you want to find out, you'll have to read on!

    Presentation
From the design of the box to the instruction manual, these are the first things you see before building the set.

Next up we got queen Shuff (cit needed). She comes in this bag style that we've been getting more and more of lately. Once again, kinda in between the size of the smaller Hero Factory sets and the minifig polybags. There's even the same background, sans Looney Toons.

Above her is the Mixels logo with appropriate googly eye, as well as the cartoon rendition of our hero thing with the Cartoon Network logo below. The standard legal is on the left side.

The back side shows the other Cragsters and their max form, with a splash of the other available Mixels. We also have the link to the Mixels site where you can play some basic games, minigame style. The giant price sticker is courtesy of the Canadian Lego store.

The instructions are pretty standard, but it also shows a better look at series one of the Mixels and pretty cool previews of the next few series. I'm liking the orange and purple ones.

    Building
Half the fun is had building the set. How fun is it to build and how easy or challenging is it?

Shuff is slightly more complex than Seismo, despite being smaller. Her back is designed the same as her front, and there's a lot of SNOT going on. You will probably take a little longer putting Shuff together.

    Set Design
Now that the set is complete, we can critique how it looks from every angle. New or interesting pieces can also be examined here.

Shuff surprised me the most of the Mixels I picked up. The compact design is really quite advanced for the size and price of the set.

Again, the big news is the new ball joint system. It's everything we've dreamed of. It's fully compatible with the old ball hitch pieces.

She comes with a better selection of grey rocky bits and gold greeblies, including a really nifty crystal crown! Another pretty nifty piece is the two ball joint eye pieces, very much like the ball joints of Bionicle lore.

    Playability
The other half of the fun is in playing with the set. How well does the set function and is it enjoyable to play with?

Shuff has less posability than Seismo, and thus more limited posability. Still pretty fun to play with.

    Final Thoughts
Once it's all said and done, how does the set stack up? Should I get it?

    Pros
    What's to like?

    • Really cool rocky appearance
    • Get a load of them ball pieces
    • Gold crown!
    • I can still call her a girl all I want

    Cons
    What's not to like?

    • Limited articulation
    • Really easy to build, even for the age range

Shuff is a nifty little rock girl. She has a lot of charm, and that crown gives her some class. For the price, I definitely recommend getting her.

Please join me in the Talkback to thank Makaru for putting this review together and ask any questions while you're at it. This is only the second Cragster, so you can expect more Mixel and other LEGO set reviews and news soon, right here on BZPower!
