Review time! Today BZPower Global Moderator takes a look at Click, that BrickMaster exclusive Scarabax Beetle. Read on to see how this little set measures up!

Click is the story of a man who's given a remote that controls time. Starring Adam Sandler - oh right, this has nothing to do with that. Click is the star of the newest BIONICLE movie to hit the streets: BIONICLE: The Click Saga - I mean BIONICLE: The Legend Reborn. Okay, enough silliness, you are probably wondering whether or not Click, the Scarabax Beetle who joins Mata Nui on his quest, is worth getting.

    Presentation
From the design of the box to the instruction manual, these are the first things you see before building the set.

So there is not really a box, so much as one small plastic bag filled with 33 pieces. Considering it is a promo set, you can't expect too much. On the front at the top is the familiar BIONICLE logo we've all come to know and love with the word CLICK put carefully to the bottom right of that. In the lower left is the age, piece count, set number, and LEGO BrickMaster logo to tell you this is an exclusive set.* In the middle proudly displayed in a bug-like pose (?) atop a stone in front of some cliffs is the creature you will be building; honestly, this makes Click appear to be really big or this canyon area really small. (I really am not sure about that pose though.) Of course, let us not forget the very important URL tucked away in the lower right corner.

The back is almost purely text with a few graphics, primarily scenes promoting the movie, thrown in for good measure. What do you want? It's a promo set, so this isn't exactly going to be found in store aisles anyway.

All in all, the packaging is pretty and glossy and reflective; in other words, taking pictures was not easy.

    Building
Half the fun is had building the set. How fun is it to build and how easy or challenging is it?

The build is simple and straightforward. With only 33 small, distinguishable pieces, it would be hard to mess up if you're accustomed to building sets.

    Set Design
Now that the set is complete, we can critique how it looks from every angle. New or interesting pieces can also be examined here.

In one word: front-heavy. In two words: it's front-heavy. The Solek staff was really not a good choice to have as the top piece on the head; it really was a poor choice because the set keeps falling forward.

Of all the pieces, there was only one with which I was not familiar or just do not remember: the nice T-shaped piece; it should be a good MOCing piece. All the other pieces you might have lying around.

Both of those are really kind of sad for an exclusive set that has to have an annual subscription purchase. But I digress.

As for the color scheme, I'm not sure what to make of it. The black, silver, and gray are not bad, but it has a dark blue back, yellow eyes, and those red rods to really hold the set together. It seems to be an awkward conglomeration of colors, but all together not that interesting.

This set somewhat looks like a beetle, but that could be because I know what it is supposed to be. The picture on the packaging does not really look like a beetle, so much as pieces put together. Fortunately, the actual set does look a little better.

    Playability
The other half of the fun is in playing with the set. How well does the set function and is it enjoyable to play with?

As mentioned, Click likes to fall forward, so getting any kind of decent pose is rather impossible or at least very difficult. It's not even a very articulate set to compensate for the weight. I tried to make Click look like a dead bug, but being upside-down didn't work too well either, due to the Vahki leg for a back.

    Final Thoughts
Once it's all said and done, how does the set stack up? Should I get it?

    Pros
    What's to like?

    • Free with a purchase of BrickMaster*
    • MOCing pieces
    • T-shaped piece
    • Can probably be made from one's current collection

    Cons
    What's not to like?

    • You'd have to buy BrickMaster just to get the set*
    • Terrible articulation, difficult to pose
    • Front-heavy build
    • Colors are lackluster and confusing

Honestly, I cannot recommend this set unless you're just a collector, or if you don't have to buy BrickMaster to obtain it.

*Exclusivity applies to US release, as other countries handle the product differently.

Today's review has been brought to you by the letter T.
