A LEGO Brickumentary, a documentary about the LEGO community, premiered today to a fairly wide release. With portions filmed at BrickFair, BrickWorld, and BrickCon, there's a good chance you'll see someone or something you know. I've heard good things about the film - if you're a fan of LEGO you should check it out in a theater or via on demand!

If you live in the Northern Virginia or Washington DC area and aren't already at BrickFair Virginia, then you need to come by this weekend! The event is open to the public this Saturday and Sunday, August 1st and 2nd from 11AM to 4PM and costs $15 per person. The LEGO Dimensions social media accounts have released a new two-minute story trailer titled "Worlds Collide in LEGO Dimensions". It offers some insights into how the unlikely trio of Batman, Gandalf, and Wyldstyle came together and what the evil Lord Vortech has to do with it. LEGOLAND California just tweeted the announcement of a new LEGO Ninjago area and ride coming to the park in 2016. Details are still scarce, but you can sign up for their e-newsletter to keep track of updates. Given the LEGO Ninjago theme's steadfast popularity and the plans for a feature film in 2017, a LEGO Ninjago park attraction should definitely bring in the crowds!

BZPower Member Everchange was looking at his collection of Protectors from this year's wave of Bionicle sets and decided to see what happens when you combine them all. The result is Protector Nui, and I love how each limb reflects a different element in its own slightly-unique way. The torso is nice too, with the gatling-launcher representing each of the elements. It also reminds me of a certain robot combiner, as you might recognize from the title. It's cool to see what people can come up with when they restrict their part palette.

The official LEGO Facebook page has revealed the exclusive minifigure from the upcoming Dorling Kindersley guide book LEGO: I Love That Minifigure! The exclusive figure is a mashup of the Zombie and Skateboarder minifigures from Minifigures Series 1 into one Zombie Skateboarder, with a pallid, smirking face and suitably tattered green hoodie. Check out the Facebook post to see the first four pictures of this minifigure "in the brick"!

The official Bionicle website has received a massive update to tie in with the summer sets! The Okoto page now lets you view the City of the Mask Makers, with details on its landmarks like the City Gate, the Arena, the Graveyard, and the Forge. The Characters page now includes all the characters from the summer sets, with detailed info on their weapons. And the Build Page has been updated with instructions for the new sets and their combi models. Follow the links above to visit the updated site!

If you've been keeping up with the 30-second LEGO Ninjago filler shorts featuring Master Chen and Clouse (such as "Chair Up Chen", "Chairful What You Wish For", and "Chen's New Chair"), you'll be happy to know that a fourth has now appeared on LEGO.com. This one's titled "Chair Play Chen" and features Chen and Clouse competing in a game of table tennis. Watch it at the LEGO Ninjago website or the LEGO Videos website!

The LEGO.com Videos page has been updated with all the summer 2015 Bionicle character videos. Skull Slicer's video had already been available, but you can now watch the Toa and Ekimu face off against Skull Warrior, Skull Basher, Skull Scorpio, and Skull Grinder! It's very likely that we'll see these videos and other updates added to Bionicle.com as the sets are officially released this coming week!

Ever wish your minifigs' arms could be positioned in multiple directions? Well Guy Himber's latest Kickstarter from Crazy Bricks gives just that with Crazy Arms. Fresh off the successes of Mouse Guard accessories and Munchkin Bricks, this project steps out of niche genres to appeal to the masses, providing minifig-style arms pointing in a variety of directions. Check out the campaign to see how your minifig displays can be enhanced. Hurry, there is only one week left to show your support for Crazy Arms.

In case you missed it, we're currently planning an online parts draft and contest around 40107 Winter Skating Scene, of which LEGO graciously donated a bunch of copies. You can head over to the store to reserve your spot in the event. Each spot is $5, to cover shipping expenses, and you can get multiple spots to get even more parts! If you don't have PayPal and will be at BrickFair Virginia, you can pay in person at that event, or send your payment via the mail. There's some cool parts in the set and it should definitely be worth entering!

Christian Faber updated the Faber Files recently with a new entry titled Flashback - The LEGO and Star Wars collaboration - part 1. He takes a trip down memory lane at his initial involvement in LEGO Star Wars and the creation of the iconic original logo the brand used. It's an interesting look back at the design process and since it's the first part, I look forward to seeing this series continuing!

BrickFair Virginia is almost upon us, but before we get caught up in all that excitement let's look a bit further into the future. We recently received a press release for BrickUniverse Dallas, an upcoming LEGO Fan Convention being held at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas on November 13th to the 15th. BZPower will be there, and in fact I'm pleased to announce that I'll be one of the featured speakers! It's time for another BZPower set review! Today we're looking at 21120 The Snow Hideout from the summer LEGO Minecraft wave. Will this set keep you cool through the warm months, or will it melt like a snowman in the Caribbean? You'll have to read on or watch our review to find out!  

Over in the LEGO Worlds discussion section on Steam, Chris Rose has announced a new in-game building contest! Check out Build Competition - Natural Formations for all the details, but the gist is to build something you'd find out in the world that's not a man-made structure, like a tree or a mountain or a cave. All entries must be 96 studs wide x 96 studs long x 256 tiles high at the most, although smaller entries are certainly encouraged. You have until August 10th to enter, so put on your thinking cap, launch your copy of LEGO Worlds, and get building!

As you may recall, last year saw The New Yoda Chronicles air on Disney XD. If you've been looking for a fix since then, well you're in luck. The show is now available for preorder on Amazon for about $20. It's scheduled to be released on September 15th and will include an alternate ending entitled "Clash Of The Skywalkers." It seems a little pricey, but I'd guess it'll go down a bit before the DVD actually comes out. If you're a fan of the LEGO Star Wars animation pieces, you should definitely put this one on your wishlist!

A week ahead of their official August 1 release date, the summer Bionicle sets are now available for U.S. buyers to pre-order from Amazon.com! 70791 Skull Warrior, 70792 Skull Slicer, 70793 Skull Basher, 70794 Skull Scorpio, and 70795 Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder are all available with no price markups, and will ship August 1. The LEGO Group has created a YouTube playlist of the seven video clips they showed at their LEGO Ninjago panel at San Diego Comic-Con. As with the Toa before them, it seems like the skull creatures are getting their own 30-second character videos, starting with Kulta the Skull Grinder's lieutenant, Skull Slicer! Needless to say, though, the Skull Creatures seem to be a lot less talkative than the heroes of Okoto. Bionicle fans in the United States may be happy to hear that Toysrus.com is now selling the August 2015 wave of LEGO sets, including Bionicle, Ninjago, Elves, and more! They are not yet available for in-store pick-up, but this could be an indication that they might show up in stores sooner than expected. Check out their New LEGO category to see the new sets! Be aware, though, that some of the sets are miscategorized, so the summer Bionicle sets appear in the LEGO Alien Conquest category rather than LEGO Bionicle. Here's hoping that gets fixed soon!

This is one of the coolest uses for LEGO bricks I've seen in a while. Carlos Arturo Torres Tovar recently completed a project at the Umea Institute of Design entitled Prosthetics for Kids as a Creative and Social Tool. What all that means is that he created a prosthetic arm for kids that is compatible with LEGO elements, allowing kids to use their creativity to build whatever kind of hand they want. It's even compatible with LEGO Mindstorms so the attachments can move and grasp objects and more. This seems like an absolutely awesome idea and one that I hope helps kids make the best of what can be seen as an unfortunate situation.

On July 12, the LEGO Group held a LEGO Ninjago panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2015, and as of today they've posted a recording of it to their YouTube channel! In this 42-minute video, Tommy Andreasen, Keith Malone, Simon Lucas, Maarten Simons, and Dan and Kevin Hageman discuss the making of the LEGO Ninjago sets and TV series. Along the way they reveal concept art of the characters and locations, pics of various Airjitzu spinner prototypes, and the new direct-to-consumer set 70751 Temple of Airjitzu. A little over a week after the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the LEGO Group has uploaded a recording of the panel to their official YouTube channel. The video runs a little over 45 minutes long. Marcos Bessa, Adam Corbally, Jason Cosler, Cort Lane, Mike Jones, and Arthur Parsons had a lot to say about the development process for the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes sets, animations, and video games. One of the most obvious differences between LEGO Dimensions and its competitors in the "toys-to-life" category is that the LEGO Dimensions toys are, well, LEGO! And a new two-minute game trailer demonstrates how the game takes advantage of that by letting you physically build and rebuild your vehicles and gadgets into different models with different in-game powers. Almost a decade and a half ago, Dimensioneer decided to create a little place on the Internet for fans of this new LEGO theme called Bionicle to talk about all the things going on with the line and to share their creations with one another. Fourteen years later and we're still here, talking about Bionicle Gen 2 and sharing MOCs, stories, artwork, playing games, and all sorts of other fun each and every day. It's humbling to see the passion and support from our community and I thank you all for sharing that with us. Today marks the beginning of our anniversary week, where we'll have some fun stuff to share (which we already started) and cool swag to give away. Recently LEGO was kind enough to give LUGs around the world a slew of copies of 40107 Winter Skating Scene, the holiday exclusive set from 2014, with the guidelines of hosting some sort of creative activity for the LUG. We thought about it for a bit and came up with the idea to use the sets to do a parts draft followed by a building contest using just the pieces you get from the draft, and our anniversary seemed like the perfect time to kick it off. Because of the logistics of packaging and shipping the parts, participating in the draft will cost $5 per spot for the US and Canada, with an additional $5 being added on for International participants (this is a one-off cost, not per-spot). A new wave of Mixels has hit store shelves, and it's time to take a closer look at them. BZPower Reporter Xccj has grabbed the three Klinkers Mixels: 41536 Gox, 41537 Jinky, and 41538 Kamzo. The online LEGO Shop websites for the United States and Canada have finally listed the summer LEGO Bionicle sets as "Coming Soon on Aug 01 2015". This is the same date announced for their release at New York Toy Fair in February, but this seemingly confirms that the LEGO Shop website will not have the sets out early for North American markets. Also releasing on the U.S. and Canadian LEGO shop websites in August are additional sets from the City, Elves, Friends, Ideas, Minecraft, Ninjago, Super Heroes, and Technic themes. TT Games Senior Programmer Chris Payne has headed over to Steam to post a dev diary about the chase camera in LEGO Worlds. He goes into detail about how the camera works to avoid obstacles to ensure you can always see your character in the game - no small feat with a fully-editable world! BrickFete Toronto 2015 was the fifth anniversary of the event and the crew up North celebrated in style. It was a great event with a lot of fun games, discussion, and of course amazing creations. Representatives from LEGO Canada were on hand to talk and listen to the fans. BZPower made it up to Ontario too for the first time, and took some pictures of all the great MOCs. To see what there was to see, read on!  

The upcoming LEGO Bionicle chapter book Island of Lost Masks, which recently got a free six-page preview, really immerses you in the culture of the island of Okoto with its decorative page headers. BZPower user Votuko discovered that those headers are more than just decoration: the repeating 26-symbol sequence is actually an alphabet! Check out his topic "Okoto Alphabet Revealed?" to see it spelled out in full detail. Hopefully the LEGO Group will begin using this alphabet to spell out messages in a lot of Bionicle media, just like the classic Matoran alphabet from 2001!

Marvel's next film, Ant-Man, opened in theaters today. While we wait to see how many millions it rakes in at the box office, let's imagine how the movie would look in LEGO form. The company has recreated the movie poster in brick form, in all its ABS glory. It's a cool trend they've started lately, and I hope it continues with other Disney movies, especially Star Wars this fall.

Today only, TeeFury has a shirt that will appeal to fans of Batman and LEGO. Entitled The Brick Knight, the design features the Caped Crusader in minifig form standing atop a studded rooftop in Gotham, protecting the city. It's only $11 (plus shipping), which is quite a steal!

For those still craving more Ninjago after Season 5 ("Possession") finished airing, the LEGO Group has uploaded a new filler short to their official YouTube channel titled "Chen's New Chair". 30 seconds of comedic antics featuring Master Chen and Clouse should hopefully be enough to put a smile on your face after last week's somewhat bittersweet season finale. The Amazon.com listing for the first LEGO Bionicle chapter book, Island of Lost Masks, has been updated with a preview featuring the first six pages of the story. Among other things, the preview introduces us to the six Protectors... by name. Needless to say, I think a lot of fans' hopes for a more in-depth account of the Bionicle storyline than what has been covered by the webisodes are going to be rewarded! What is a great LEGO super hero without a LEGO sidekick? The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Michael Cera will be playing the Boy Wonder to Will Arnett's Caped Crusader in the upcoming LEGO Batman movie (coming in 2017). Michael Cera and Will Arnett have worked together for years as actors on the sitcom Arrested Development, so hopefully that experience will translate to great chemistry in the voice acting booth!

Michael Rose worked on the visual development and was an art director on the first three Bionicle movies, among many other animated films. Recently some of his work was discovered on his online portfolio with renders, concept art, and more. It's some pretty awesome artwork and certainly worth checking out to get a look behind the scenes of the creation of the movies.

Over on Steam, TT Games' Chris Rose has announced the winners to their building competition. The five runners-up and the one overall finalist will now have their creations become pre-defined models in the actual game! Make sure to check them out, because they're all excellent, and they'll certainly add a variety to the worlds people create.

BZPower Member TheOneVeyronian is a rather skilled constraction builder, but has decided recently to branch out to the System side of LEGO. Being a fan of dragons, they decided to make a skeleton of one using LEGO Digital Designer. Dragons of course aren't real, but the attention to detail to make it look anatomically correct is pretty amazing. There's a huge amount of poseability in the model, and it looks really great to boot. Their next project is to make a physical model using pieces that are actually available. Go check it out and let them know what you think!

The LEGO Group has uploaded a one-minute brickfilm to their YouTube channel, in which Kai, the ninja of fire from LEGO Ninjago, takes on the obstacle course from the competitive TV show "American Ninja Warrior". Fans of the show might recognize some of the obstacles like the Spider Climb and Salmon Ladder, as well as hosts Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbaja-Biamila. There's no telling when the Bionicle website will be fully updated for the summer sets, but it's moving in that direction with a new 30-second teaser video describing the next leg of the Toa's quest to save Okoto. A new project has achieved ten thousand votes of support on LEGO Ideas! Lothlorien by RAKRONDEWL is a playset modeled after the Golden Wood from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings and the Peter Jackson movie adaptation. The model features some Elvish buildings within two mallorn trees and the Mirror of Galadriel, which plays an important role in the story. While the recent Minas Tirith model (created by our own Nuju Metru) unfortunately did not get turned into a set, I wish this Tolkien creation the best of luck!

BrickFair Virginia is a little over two weeks away, and it's time to turn the hype up to eleven. Since BrickFair moved to the Dulles Expo Center, lasertag has been a staple experience for members during the event. Since 2013, we've hosted an official pizza party in conjunction with some games of lasertag and this year is no different. On Saturday, August 1st, at 4:45 PM we'll be hosting two rounds with a break for pizza and refreshments in between. Tickets are now on sale in the Store for $25. Copies of the trans-neon green Skull Scorpio mask that was an exclusive giveaway from LEGO at this weekend's San Diego Comic Con have started showing up on eBay. Allen over at The Brick Fan was lucky enough to snag one of the transparent neon green Skull Scorpio masks at San Diego Comic Con yesterday and has shared his thoughts and images of the mask. It looks pretty cool, and I'm also a fan of the artwork on the inside of the packaging. LEGO has been doing a lot of San Diego Comic Con, and today also included a giveaway of an exclusive trans neon green Skull Scorpio Mask. It's been a few days since our last 2015 Bionicle summer set review, and it's time we got back to it. Today Forum Assistant Zatth takes a look at 70793 Skull Basher, one of the many enemies that fills this wave (just like the old days!). Will this set bash its way through your home like a bull in a china shop, or will it leave you seeing red? You'll have to read and watch on to find out - but it's worth it, because we're giving one of these sets away!  

Last night was the preview night for San Diego Comic Con before all the craziness really kicks off. A panel for LEGO Dimensions was held, and none other than Peter Capaldi and Jenna-Louise Coleman sat in as a new trailer for LEGO Dimensions was shown. The trailer reveals that all of the incarnations of The Doctor will be playable (including the War Doctor!) and Daleks and Cybermen will be making an appearance. Speaking of which, they also announced a Doctor Who Fun Pack for the game that will feature those two enemies. I can't wait to see the figures in person!

This year's MakutaFest livestream event will be taking place this Saturday at 2:30 PM PDT, 5:30 PM EDT‏. The folks from The TTV Podcast and BS01‏ will get together to talk about such topics as the year in Bionicle thus far, set reviews, and guest interviews. This Friday, July 10th, LEGO will be unveiling in person the latest LEGO Ninjago set at San Diego Comic Con. In advance of that, however, BZPower has the designer video, images, and the press release for 70751 Temple of Airjitzu. The set will be available to VIPs on August 18th, and be available to everyone else in September. Read on to check out this awesome two-thousand piece behemoth!  

The LEGO Ninjago website's Explore section now has a new story explaining the backstory of the Anacondrai and events from the TV episodes "The Forgotten Element" and "The Day of the Dragon", leaving just a couple Season 4 episodes that haven't been covered yet by these recaps. The new LEGO Club magazines for this month are beginning to show up in mailboxes in the United States. If you're not subscribed to the LEGO Club magazine, though, have no fear! The Red Brick Edition, Green Brick Edition, and Yellow Brick Insert are all now available for free viewing on the LEGO Club website, including as downloadable PDF files. Go ahead and give them a read!

Over in the Bionicle RPG forum is a popular game entitled Matoran und Panzer. Created by Kaneo Takarada, the game takes place in an alternate future of the Island of Mata Nui, where Matoran use exo-suits and tanks in order to search for lost riches and, of course, wage war. We already know about two minifigure giveaways taking place at San Diego Comic Con this coming week, but BZPower has received word about the third and final free exclusive - and it's for Bionicle! Attendees will be able to receive a transparent neon green LEGO BIONICLE Skull Scorpio Mask on Saturday. Read on to see the full details.  

Just announced for LEGO's booth (#2829) at San Diego Comic Con this week is an almost larger-than-life sculpture of the Hulk and Iron Man's Hulkbuster armor mid-fight. This scene from Avengers: Age of Ultron is built with over 100,000 LEGO bricks and took 575 man-hours to complete. Check out the details via CBR, or see it yourself at SDCC while enjoying all LEGO has to offer, including panels, giveaways, and sales. LEGO models always manage to impress even the most casual of fans, and this is sure to be no different.

The LEGO Club website is running a new contest, open to U.S. residents, for a prize unlike any other: an "Ultimate Battle for Chima" set with 92 minifigures and over 10,000 bricks! More specifically, the "Ultimate Battle for Chima" is a bundle of 25 LEGO Legends of Chima sets. To participate, entrants are asked to build a fortress to help Laval protect the CHI from villains. More details, including a picture of that whopper of a grand prize, can be seen on the LEGO Club website, or in the July/August 2015 edition of the LEGO Club Magazine.

LEGO has tweeted their schedule of events for the upcoming San Diego Comic Con. This includes details about the minifigure drawings, the LEGO panels, and the LEGO Video Game Demos. LEGO Dimensions is also giving us a Doctor Who teaser with an image of Peter Capaldi holding the LEGO TARDIS from the game, with the promise of more info on July 8th. If you're able to make it to the event, it looks like there will be plenty of LEGO action to get into.

Care to own a piece of Bionicle history? Some Bionicle: Legends of Metru Nui storyboards have reappeared on ebay, detailing scenes for the second Bionicle movie before they were fully realized for the film. Check them out. These eleven items have a starting listing of $14.95, and the auction runs until Saturday. These are a unique way to get a hold of Bionicle history. Best of luck to anyone interested.

In celebration of summer, the LEGO Bionicle Facebook page posted a painting by set designer Matt Betteker. In it, Gali, Master of Water, swims amidst the ruins beneath the seas of Okoto, channeling elemental energy through her hands and attracting the attention of curious sea life. The artist's style really brings the Gali set to life, and it's great to see that the creativity of the Bionicle design team extends beyond the products we see on store shelves!

After the information we shared earlier this week about the upcoming LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales, we were lucky to receive some high-quality stills from the first episode. It looks like it covers quite a few of the movies, and should be interesting to watch - I'm looking forward to the trademark LEGO humor. Read on to see the images!  

Over on Marvel.com, Matt Cabral recently interviewed Arthur Parsons, director of the upcoming LEGO Marvel's The Avengers, to get some information about the game. They cover a lot of the basics about gameplay and how it will compare to LEGO Marvel Superheroes from a couple of years ago. With features like 'initiative moves' and combos, it sounds like there will be hours of fun and excitement to be had. If you're looking forward to this game, make sure you give it a read!

USA Today reports that over 15,000 guests at the National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C. chipped in on Wednesday to construct a massive LEGO model of the American Flag. The building event was a celebration of the museum's new Innovation Wing. The completed flag measures fourteen feet wide by nine and a half feet tall, weighs 546 pounds, and is built from over 100,000 LEGO bricks. TT Games' Chris Rose recently posted an update on Steam with news about the first content update for LEGO Worlds. The update will launch tomorrow, Friday, July 3rd, 'early if you're in the US, late if you're in Russia or Asia.' In addition to some bug fixes, new features include cave exploration, new characters, creatures, items and vehicles in a whole new biome, and interior props for decorating your house. They will also be adding windowed mode, camera y-axis inversion, and an inverted corner slope element in the Brick-by-Brick editor. It certainly sounds like it will be jam-packed, so if you've been playing the game, make sure you grab the update!

Several of the LEGO Dimensions social media channels have announced an opportunity to be among the first to play LEGO Dimensions during San Diego Comic-Con (from Thursday, July 9 through Sunday, July 12). Rather than hosting this event at the convention center, though, they're hosting it in the ballroom of the nearby Hard Rock Hotel and opening it to all guests, even those without SDCC badges! BZPower user Ethan Obi reports in the Official Bionicle 2015 Topic that the instruction manuals for all five new BIONICLE sets for this summer have been uploaded to LEGO.com as PDF files and posted to the LEGO Customer Service website. The scan quality is very good, making it easy to distinguish what colors the sets use and view the key visuals, comics, and other images that accompany each set's building steps. The longest-running fan event in Canada celebrates its fifth anniversary this year, and it should be a blast. Today is the first day of July, the month of BZPower's anniversary, which means there will be lots of fun stuff for all in the coming weeks. Usually we wait until the week of the anniversary to really kick things off, but this new program was so cool we didn't want to wait! Here comes the duel of the century, or at least until next year's big Bionicle sets come out: Mask Maker vs Skull Grinder, in the plastic flesh and ready to review. This is the largest set of the summer 2015 wave and features some heavy-hitting characters. Also of note it that the Mask of Creation is included, making it seem like a must-have for all fans. If you've seen LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu Episode 46, "Ghost Story" (which aired yesterday evening in the United States), you've already heard part of this season's new remix of The Fold's LEGO Ninjago theme song "The Weekend Whip". Today, The Fold posted the full version of "The Ghost Whip" to their YouTube channel for fans to listen. It's not yet available for download from iTunes, Google Play, or Amazon.com, but it will probably be joining their other releases there in the future. The first visual teaser for next year's LEGO Angry Birds theme has been revealed over on Kotaku. In this new poster, the aptly-named character Red (looking perhaps more apprehensive than angry) stands on an endless field of red plates, guarding an egg from an encroaching gang of little green pigs. Needless to say, we still don't know what the playsets themselves will look like, but this at least gives us some idea what to expect from the figures!
